A Beautiful Day in Half Moon Bay

...I rhymed!

So in a crazy mix of friends and relationships, my best friend is dating my boyfriend's best friend. I will do the whole thing with names once...try to follow...My boyfriend is Skyler and is best friends with Devon (and Alex) and Devon is dating Jenna, my best friend...Alex is just Alex. We all love him. He used to live with Devon and Jenna and now he lives in Colorado.

Anyways, 2 weeks ago, Devon calls me and left a voice mail while I was at work. It took me all of 30 seconds to realize this means: HE IS GOING TO PROPOSE! So I listen to the message and sure enough he bought a ring. Now, God knows, I really struggle keeping fun, surprise secrets. I love telling people...but clearly, I couldn't. So I waited..and waited..and a week later, he came and showed me the ring as soon as he could pick it up. And then I waited..and waited.. He told me he will do it "sometime before October." No joke, I almost had a heart attack. WAIT UNTIL OCTOBER?! Was he crazy?

I reminded him that Alex was visiting this upcoming weekend/week and it would be the perfect time with the whole group together to celebrate. He said no but promised to no matter what, give me 48 hours notice so I could get her nails done and such.

Saturday night, Alex was in town, we were all together and he pulled me aside and says "tomorrow. I want to do it tomorrow." Well that was less than 24 hours notice. Heart attack. So I went into full on bossy, planning mode. We came up with the plan/excuse to all go to the beach and lunch so it could happen and then I told her that I was going to paint her nails. She was less than enthusiastic and minorly annoyed with my bossiness but I knew she'd appreciate it in the end.

So Sunday rolled around, the boys went skating for a while and then came home. We all went to Half Moon Bay. Had an absolutely amazing lunch at Crab Landing (Skyler and my's place of choice in the area) and then off to a beach. The whole thing ended up perfect. Everyone was casual, calm, and our normal goofy selves. We got a million pictures. 2 videos and tons of memories.

All in all, I'm going to be a bridesmaid and an assistant wedding planner and I could not be more excited!

Lots of love to the happy couple!
